A Cabin in Douthat VA
May 1, 2010
We spent the weekend at a park cabin in Douthat VA. My aunt Claudia and uncle Randy Sullivan had invited us to join them and their 2 doggies. It was just what we enjoy: relaxing, hiking, good weather and wine! It reminded us of a Norwegian cabin, but without the snow. (we never went to a summer cabin)
All four of us squeezed into our room with a pack n play and baby tent on the floor. We went on a hike to a “waterfall” and Bennett did an outstanding job. He took off after the the dogs Ziggy and Dolce and ran almost the entire way. I wasn’t really surprised at how much energy he had.
Luckily the boys were well behaved and didn’t scare off uncle Randy. Well, Bennett did throw dirt on our dinner right after Randy took it off the grill. Priceless! Oh – living with a toddler is entertaining.
The Sullivans stayed on 2 more days in the cabin while we all headed back to Rockville. I had to teach a cycling class. It was a short and sweet get away which made our weekend feel super long.
Thanks Sullivans!
