The Blizzard of 2010
Dave and I decided we love snow and we need to move more north. Strange since I’ve lived more than half my life by the ocean.
We have successfully entertained ourselves hanging out with our neighbors: Poker night, Beatles Rock Band, sledding, Xcountry skiing, preparing the house for the baby to come (maybe next week??), lots of shoveling and baking junk food. We currently have whiteout conditions outside, but the fireplace is on and we are cozy! Hopefully the power won’t go out like it did over the weekend. The news is saying the blizzard conditions are like an “arctic wasteland”, but I disagree. I don’t think this weather is as bad as it was 2 years ago when we took 3 week old baby Bennett to Ustaoset Norway.
We checked on my grandfather’s home in Potomac yesterday and two huge pine trees fell down on his neighbors fence & patio. The weight of the snow is taking down trees and getting mixed up in power lines. I’m sure after today it’ll be worse.
No school all week for our local counties. Maybe Dave will be as lucky with the government. He is probably getting more work done at home than when he is a work going from meeting to meeting.
I have video of Dave and Bennett sledding this past Sunday. Bennett did well until the snow until it was all up in his face. I can’t seem to figure out how to upload it with my new software. Maybe Dave will figure it out for me later today….

I have an idea: why don’t you come up here and we’ll move to DC?!? Even though you currently have more snow than us, we beat you hands down in any kind of longer-term average.

Hi guys,
I read about Maryland drowning in snow. We have a very decent winter here in Norway as well. For the first time since 23 years they are using icebreakers in the Oslofjord, because the small ferries can’t get through. We’re all in this together, guys.
Cheers and good luck with number 2!

What do you mean more north? Didn’t you know our master plan was to move into your cute neighborhood with the hot milk man?
Although Bella’s outside playing in her sand box with a sun hat on, I’m secretly jealous of the snow.
Happy labor to you Genna!

Glad to hear you are enjoying the snow. It is the first positive report I have heard. The snow is fun when you are young but gets old after a while. I loved skiing when I lived up there and didn’t mind the occasional snow storm. Now I don’t like it when the temp drops into 40’s. Of course that’s why we live in sunny SC.

That is the cutist picture of Bennett. I sure would like to see the video! -Can’t wait to put my arms around him, but I sure hope all the snow will be gone before my trip to Md.
