Busy as a Bee
What the heck have we been up to!! OK this blog isn’t easy to update since it requires uploading images and using my brain. I’ll give a shot until Bennett wakes up from his nap.
We have had several weekends of visitors since March. Jeff and Erica were in town for work reasons. We tried to do minimal projects on the house (unlike the previous visit from them). Then we went to California for a week. Dave had work out there and I saw my family and played with my nephews. Immediately afterwards, we had Steph Mumma and Neil Dixion came in town for work reasons. We checkout out the cherry blossoms downtown with them and hung out.
Then the next day after them, Josh Kline came. Josh, Dave and I signed up for the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in downtown D.C. It was a nice run and we were glad to participate. Josh and I did some touring around the city by day and then we ate like kings at night.
After his visit we celebrated Easter weekend in Boston. Dave and the boys went on a hike in New Hampshire and Erica and I took Bennett to the aquarium. We ate like kings again all weekend. All-in-all, march and April were a blur.
Summer started and Bennett and I go to the playgrounds around town and take long siestas. Bennett also has a music class and “fun”fit class. We’ve met neighbors in our quad and have started making local friends.
Dave’s been brewing beer (brown ale and a belgian) and our CSA of weekly veggies has started. So Dave has started to make jams with all the left overs. Speaking of veggies, we had a garden plot that is currently under construction by the city in our neighborhood. It should be ready for us by the end of the summer. We’ll get something planted, but we look forward to getting serious about it next year.
I’ve been meeting some friends at night and started scrapbooking and doing sewing project. My new favorite is making bandana pants for Bennett. They are sweat! I also organized a stream cleanup in my neighborhood that was fairly successful.
Dave had a college reunion at Johns Hopkins one of the weekends. Kate and Andrew and Oscar came for that and stayed with us. We had fun considering it was a different tempo now that we all have kids.
Then finally we had Jim and Barbara visit us from South Carolina. We went to Mt. Vernon and had a party at the house.
Memorial Day weekend we stayed local and enjoyed it! We did go to the beach for one day on the Eastern Shore.
That catches me up to the present! Yippee!
Next weekend we’ll be flying to Boston to drop off Bennett at Dave’s parents house. Dave had a Northwoods camp reunion in New Hampshire we are attending. I hope I remember my archery skills and camp fire songs!
In case I lag again – enjoy summer!

Okay, I know there are more important aspects to the blog, but what I’m really dying to know is…what type of beer did Dave brew? If he toys with any IPAs, Tom, Bella and I may just be your next visitors! Haha.
